I think being a teen these days is hard. Like really, really hard. I remember being so self-conscious and awkward as a teen. We didn’t have a ton of money; I didn’t have the right clothes; my body wasn’t perfect; and every attempt at being cool just came out weird. I wasn’t getting along with my parents. I just felt ugly and awful. And that was in the days before social media! Purposed Generation’s mission is to stop those ugly voices in teens’ hearts and minds. 

Purposed Generation is a nonprofit organization offering personalized, donation-based portrait sessions to help individuals ages 13-17 that are struggling with self-esteem and depression. We work to remind them they have been created by God for a purpose- their unique gifts, talents, interests and yes, even their quirks, make them rocking awesome!

“For example, if a teen is in chess club but is feeling insecure about that not being cool, then we are going to pull chess into their personalized shoot and highlight that in a really cool way!”
